A Day at the Crescent Hotel...same time every year

Tis the season to be jolly and sociable too! We are attending the Annual Silver Tea at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, AR this Thursday and not only must I look Christmassy, I must be warm!! It's December in the Ozarks, and the ladies of St James Episcopal Church are at it again. Every first Thursday in December they throw a huge Silver Tea at the Crescent with full Victorian costume, great homemade sandwiches and cookies, and a silver tea fit for a King (and Queen). I must go into the closet and find something really FESTIVE, FUN, and FRILLY! oh, and comfortable too...

Every lady must own a LBD (little black dress)! And, anything goes with my LBD which is made by Volcom the V.CO-logical series. This 100% Organic Cotton machine washable sweater dress is super comfortable and goes well with my Flame Red Gianni Bini Boots and Preston of York frilly red gloves and scarf. With a couple of rows of gray ruffles around the hem, I have chosen gray hosiery to keep the line flowing.

I think I'll be ready...can't wait to taste all the treats, check out the costumes, and roam around the city to soak up all the Christmas festivities (dressed comfy and Christmassy, of course). This little town in the Ozarks really knows how to throw a super BIG bash!!!

A Day at the Museum...

Yesterday I traveled up to Bentonville, Arkansas and checked out the brand new Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.  Everybody I encountered was soooo nice and friendly and all the Crystal Bridges personnel were constantly wishing me a wonderful experience. What a treat it was!

What to wear...I wanted to look nice but be comfortable for the day long outing. And heaven forbid, everyone knows it's against the law to be overdressed in Benton County (unless you're a WalMartian). So, I went into the closet and came up with this ensemble for my day at the Museum...

This dark khaki Ralph Lauren Jacket was perfect! 98% cotton and 2% elastane made the fit flexible and comfy. Extra stylish with a hidden zipper up the front and brown Lauren buttons for show. Cruel Girl Jeans, of course. The older they get, the better they fit.
My Brown Dansko Dutchlike Clogs with textured swirls and designs, wide heel base, roomy toe area, and supported rocker bottoms were soooo comfortable all day long.
To round out my accessories, I chose as I so often do, my Green Turquoise Rope Necklace with matching earrings. What a great outfit for a grand day! And, if you haven't made it to the new Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art...shame on you...you must go!
